Introduction to commonly used machining tools in CNC machining centers.

Numerical control is a field that involves many machining equipment and processes, such as machining centers, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, CNC grinders, EDM, wire cutting, etc., all of which belong to CNC machining equipment. The prominent difference between CNC machining centers and CNC milling machines is that they are equipped with an additional tool magazine, which contains many tools used in the CNC machining process. So, what are the commonly used tools in CNC machining centers?

1. CNC end mill

CNC end mill is a commonly used tool in CNC machining centers. This type of cutting tool can be divided into white steel cutting tools and tungsten steel cutting tools according to different materials, as well as aluminum milling cutters and iron milling cutters according to their uses.

White steel milling cutters are mainly used for low-end products with low processing technology requirements due to their low cost.

Aluminum milling cutter is a commonly used tool for milling aluminum materials, which is beneficial for the surface glossiness of products such as steel.

Tungsten steel milling cutters are generally used when processing steel because they have a coating on the surface and are easy to withstand high temperatures. The spindle speed can be appropriately slowed down during the machining process.

2. Fixed-point drill

As the name suggests, it is generally used for positioning during the machining process of CNC machining centers. Of course, it can also be used as a chamfer around the product. To ensure positional accuracy, it is necessary to drill a position first.

3. Center Drill

In actual processing, it can be used for product positioning, and fixed point drills are commonly used to replace its function.

4. Drill bit (standard Fried Dough Twists drill)

Drill bits are a commonly used type of tool in CNC machining centers. Mainly used for drilling, which is commonly required in the machining process.

5. Group drilling

A group drill can also be called a three pointed two edged drill. The cutting force of this drill bit is quite astonishing. Even if it is made of hard steel, a drill bit can drill many holes. Regardless of appearance, as long as you master the cutting principle, you can grind many special shaped drill bits. Such as brass drill, thin plate drill, grinding drill bit, etc.

6. Face milling cutter

It can also be called a flying knife. Can be used to mill surfaces, used for large-area milling of materials. When using a face milling cutter, if the flatness requirement is high, it is easy to cause surface deformation of the product. The speed should not be too fast.

7. Round nose knife

In CNC machining centers, round nose cutters can be used for milling both flat surfaces and milling, and their functions are quite diverse.

8. T-shaped knife

This is mainly used for milling T-slots. How to use it specifically, as long as it is used once, it can be easily understood.

9. Keyway knife

Keyway cutters are often used to open keyways due to their smooth cutting and smooth chip removal.

10. Ball Knife

Commonly used for processing surfaces. Machining surfaces usually requires macro programs or software programming.

11. Internal R knife

It can mainly be used for reverse R-angle machining.

12. Dovetail groove milling cutter

As the name suggests, in CNC machining centers, dovetail groove milling cutters are used to machine dovetail grooves.

13. Precision boring tool

Boring is a skill that needs to be mastered in CNC machining. This type of boring tool is adjustable and is usually used for precision boring. The cutting amount is relatively small, and the surface smoothness is high.

14. Reamer blade

In CNC machining centers, reaming can also be used for precision machining. Generally, it can only be used to correct the verticality of the hole, and cannot change the position of the hole. It is also commonly used in precision machining.

15. Rolling knife

Used for machining holes with high precision and smoothness requirements. It belongs to the precision machining level.

16. Rotating file

Mainly used for grinding, similar in function to a file.
