Vertical machining center refers to a machining center with a vertical spindle. Most of its structure is fixed columns, and the workbench is rectangular without indexing and rotation functions. It is suitable for processing components such as plates, molds, and small shells. Vertical machining centers can complete processes such as milling, boring, drilling, tapping, and cutting threads. It usually has three linear motion coordinate axes and can be mounted on a rotating worktable that rotates along a horizontal axis to machine spiral parts. A vertical machining center can handle 5 degrees of freedom.

The clamping and positioning of workpieces on vertical machining centers are convenient; The tool movement trajectory is easy to observe, the debugging program is easy to check and measure, and problems can be detected in a timely manner, stopped for processing or modification; Cooling conditions are easy to establish, and cutting fluid can directly reach the tool and machining surface; The two coordinate axes are consistent with the Cartesian coordinate system, and the intuitive feeling is consistent with the perspective of the graph. Chips are easy to remove and fall off to avoid scratching the processed surface. Compared with corresponding horizontal machining centers, the structure is simple, the footprint is small, and the price is low.

It should be noted that when choosing a vertical machining center, the functions of the CNC equipment should be fully utilized, and reasonable development should be carried out according to the needs to expand the functions of the CNC machine tool and meet the requirements of the product.
