A brief talk about the working principle and characteristics of vertical machining center

Category: Release time:Nov 11,2021

The vertical machining center utilizes the flow of compressed air in the pipeline to guide the lubricating oil to continue flowing along the inner wall of the pipeline, and the mixed oil and gas are transported to the spindle and other lubrication parts of the machining center, such as the screw. Dry compressed air is continuously supplied at a certain pressure, and lubricating oil is supplied in different quantities based on spindle lubrication, screw lubrication, or other component fuel consumption. Therefore, the design of each lubrication circuit should use a separate micro pump as the power source for delivering oil to society. After the oil comes out of the pump, it should first enter the oil air mixing valve. The compressed air flowing in the oil air mixing valve blows the oil into small oil droplets, which adhere to the pipe wall to form an oil film. The oil film flows along the pipe wall in the direction of the airflow, gradually becoming thinner but not condensing.

The lubrication system of a vertical machining center can simply mix separately supplied lubricating oil and compressed air together to form a turbulent oil air mixture flow, which is then sent to the main shaft or other lubrication parts of the machining center.

So, what are the similarities and differences between oil air lubrication and oil mist lubrication?

Similarities: Powered by compressed air.

Difference: Oil and gas lubrication do not spray oil into the mist, but use compressed air flow to transport small oil droplets along the pipeline to the lubrication point. Compared with other lubricants, oil air lubrication has many advantages. The oil air lubrication management system for vertical machining centers mainly consists of pneumatic pumps, air source processing information components, control parts, and accessories such as spiral tubes. Unlike oil mist lubrication, petroleum and natural gas lubrication use a wide range of oil viscosities. The use of grease and lubricants for cyclic lubrication in machining centers may lead to abnormal heating. Bearings that require high rotational speed in parts that are highly clean and sealed like a spindle.

What are the characteristics of vertical machining centers?

1. Environmental protection, no pollution. Because there is no oil pollution or mist spraying, the surrounding environment is not polluted

2. Accurate fuel supply. Regulating valves can be added to deliver oil to lubrication points such as the spindle and screw according to other needs.

3. There is no problem with atomization of high viscosity lubricating oil; Suitable for any relic.

4. Automatically detect and monitor. It is possible to detect whether the lubricating oil is functioning properly. If the lubrication is poor, it can warn of downtime and prevent equipment management from developing normally.

5. Vertical machining centers are particularly suitable for spindle rolling bearings with certain air cooling effects, reducing bearing operating temperatures and extending spindle life.

6. Small fuel consumption, cost savings.
